 It is indeed an honor and privilege to serve as your president this year. I want to begin by thanking all of you who are active members and to encourage all lettermen to activate your membership and help us recruit new members. What better way is there to show your support for the athletic programs of this great university? What better way is there to show your appreciation for what A&M athletics has meant to you personally? It is an exciting time to be involved! Many of our athletic programs are already receiving national recognition, while others are in the building phases toward national prominence. It is my goal to have our Lettermen's Association involved in this rise to the top.
Another benefit of membership is the Annual Burgess Banquet to honor our Hall of Fame and Hall of Honor recipients. It is scheduled for September 18, 2009, so mark your calendars now and make plans to join us for a memorable evening! Membership also permits you to participate in the Lettermen's Barbeque before each home football game. You also have the opportunity to visit with other lettermen and their guests in Erickson Hall (formerly the Lettermen's Lounge) prior to each game. Our Lettermen's Association also administers the Athletic Sports Museum, which is second to none in my opinion. It is a great way to archive all A&M sports history and honor former athletes, coaches, and others associated with A&M athletics. It is also used effectively in recruiting. All active members of the association are eligible to receive two free tickets to all home sporting events with the exception of football, men's basketball and baseball. I could go on and on, but please take a few moments to join and recruit others to become a part of the best bargain I know of for $100 - membership in the Fightin' Texas Aggie Lettermen's Association!
